It's likely the PGA tour's event at Torrey Pines next year will not be called the Buick Invitational.

On Tuesday General Motors announced it will end its sponsorship of the Buick Open in Michigan calling into question the fate of its other tour stop here in San Diego.
The troubled automaker emerged from bankruptcy this month and has been cutting back on professional sports sponsorships.
Buick has sponsored the tournament here since 1992.
