Nick Lucena began his beach volleyball career in 2001. He began playing with Phil Dalhausser in 2003 but the two decided to split at the end of the 2005 season. They paired again in August 2015 after competing separately for 10 years. They were named the 2015 USA Men’s Beach Team of the Year.
