If it worked once, maybe it can work again. Maybe that was the thinking at Chargers Park on Tuesday when they signed punter Mat McBriar. The 35-year old is a native of Australia, the same homeland of former Chargers punter Darren Bennett.
Bennett actually helped McBriar land a job punting at the University of Hawaii. There he went on to become a two-time All-Western Conference punter.
McBriar is a ten-year NFL veteran who kicked for six different teams. He replaces Mike Scifres who is recovering from surgery on the collarbone he broke Sunday night against the Patriots.
