NCAA Game Summary – San Diego at Pepperdine

Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Keion Bell posted a game-high 18 points and collected 10 rebounds to lead the Pepperdine Waves to a 57-52 victory over the San Diego Toreros in a West Coast Conference matchup at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Ryan Holmes added 17 points in the win for Pepperdine (8-18, 5-5 WCC).

Rob Jones scored 13 points and grabbed seven boards to lead the way for San Diego (13-13, 5-6), while Danny Brown chipped in 11 points for the Toreros.

Both squads struggled from the floor during the opening period, as Pepperdine hit a mere 36.4 percent of their attempts to San Diego's 36.0 percent shooting clip. The Toreros, however, managed a slight 30-28 halftime lead with a 7-of-8 effort from the foul line.

The Waves continued a solid defensive stance in the second stanza, holding the Toreros to 32.3 percent from the field en route to the five-point win.

The Toreros shot a miserable 33.9 percent from the floor in the loss, including just 5-of-22 from beyond the arc.
