Tiger Woods sported nothing but a “fat lip” four days after crashing his SUV outside his home, a law enforcement official has told a local Orlando TV station.
Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes told WESH-TV in Orlando Wednesday that the champion golfer and his attorney met with troopers on Dec. 1.
Montes and other FHP officials did not immediately return several phone messages and e-mails from the AP.
The meeting at an undisclosed location in Orlando came after troopers tried for three days to meet with Woods about the accident in which his sport utility vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant and tree outside his home.
The officers arranged the meeting to deliver a $164 citation for careless driving and to see if Woods had any injuries that were inconsistent with a car accident, Montes told the TV station.
Woods had a "fat lip," but no other visible injuries and officers had no reason to believe the golfer was a victim of domestic violence, Montes told WESH-TV.
That initial car accident sparked weeks of salacious headlines that have sullied Woods’ once squeaky-clean image reputation, as more than a dozen women have come forward alleging trysts with the world’s No. 1 golfer.

On Dec. 1, Woods copped to romantic “transgressions” in a statement on his website. He also announced a hiatus from professional golf to focus on repairing his marriage.
Before the sex scandal broke, Woods had reportedly raked in an estimated $100 million a year from endorsements, more than any other star athlete.
That income is now in jeopardy as many of Woods’ sponsors have either bailed on Woods or downgraded their association with him.
Even shareholders at Woods-sponsored companies have taken a hit to the tune of $5 to $12 billion, according to a study by researchers at the University of California, Davis.
Not all news has been bad for the golf pro lately. In the weeks since his scandal broke, Woods has won the AP's Athlete of the Decade award and was voted PGA Tour Player of the Year for the 10th time in 13 years.
Woods has not been seen in public since his car accident. He has also yet to speak out in public about his alleged affairs.
His wife, Elin Nordgren, has reportedly taken the family’s two children to Sweden for the holidays.
