There's a crowd of proud parents in South Bay this week
The Eastlake Panthers Mitey Mite Black team, which is made up of 7- to 9-year-old boys, went all the way last week at the American Youth Football National Championships. The team won all four games they played at the tournament in Orlando, Fla., returning to Chula Vista as national champs.
The 31-player team was also undefeated this year, going 15-0, giving up only 33 points in their season.
"We weren't sure how we would match up with different teams outside of San Diego," said head coach Clark Moses. "To our surprise, we matched up pretty well."
Moses has been coaching at Eastlake for six years, two years with the last group.
