The mighty Roger Federer was ousted from Wimbledon by a lowly 12th seed.

Czech Tomas Berdych dispatched the six-time Wimbledon winner, and possibly the greatest player of all-time, in four sets at the storied tournament's Centre Court. Berdych rode a big serve and powerful forehand to a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory.

“It’s really tough to show this crowd how I’m just feeling right now, it’s amazing to play on this stadium to play such a great player as Roger is, and come here and be here as a winner is just really amazing,” said Berdych, whose serve was clocked above 130 miles per hour.

The two have played each other 11 times, with Federer winning eight. Federer will fall to No. 3 in the world rankings with the loss. He was playing in his 25th straight Grand Slam quarterfinal, but has now lost his last two after winning 23 in a row.

Elsewhere at the tournament, Venus and Serena Williams were knocked out of the doubles competition by an unseeded duo from Russia. Vera Zvonareva and Elena Vesnina defeated the pair 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Venus had already been ousted from singles play, while Serena will face Petra Kvitova in the singles semifinal.
