Lucky Number 7 Helps Toreros Avoid Sweep

Big inning gives USD a win over SDSU

USD has one of the best baseball programs in the nation, but for some reason the Toreros just have trouble with San Diego State.  For the 2nd straight year, the Aztecs took 3 out of 4 games from their cross-town rivals, and it took one monster inning for the Toreros to avoid getting swept.

USD scored seven runs in the 4th inning and held on for a 10-7 win at Tony Gwynn Stadium.  The Toreros had just four hits in the inning, but SDSU made three errors to let the game get away.  The Aztecs made five errors in the game.

Both teams are now 7-6 on the season.  The Toreros' next game is Tuesday at Long Beach State.  The Aztecs next play on Wednesday at UCLA.
