Rancho Bernardo High School alum Cole Hamels made an impression on the mound during Game 1 of the National League Championship Series.
Hamels pitched seven innings and struck out eight as the Phillies edged the Dodgers 3-2.He also got the win, the biggest of his career.
The Phillies took control of the game when they scored all three of their runs in the sixth inning. Chase Utley belted a two-run homer to tie the game, then Pat Burrell's solo shot won it for Philadelphia.
