Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will play at Torrey Pines next week.
Tom Wilson, Executive Director of the Farmers Insurance Open scheduled for Jan. 24 – 30 at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, appeared on NBCSanDiego News in the Morning Wednesday and confirmed Mickelson will play.
Then, just before 8 a.m., Woods sent a post via Twitter announcing he's ready for game time. ESPN reported Woods will start the year in San Diego for the open.
The tournament features $5.8 million in prize money including a first place award of more than $1 million.
In the last 10 years, Woods finished first five times in the annual tournament at Torrey Pines. Mickelson took home the trophy twice.
