Lauren Kieffer was hooked on riding after receiving lessons for her sixth birthday. By age 12, she was competing around her hometown in rural Illinois. And by the time she turned 18, she was training under Olympians Karen and David O'Connor. In 2015, she won eventing gold at the Pan American Games and was also named to the World Class Training List. She now resides in Middleburg, Virginia, just outside D.C. in Loudoun County. She will compete in three-day eventing in her first Olympic Games in Rio.
