Potter, the USA captain on the Women's Sevens World Series circuit, has earned a reputation for doing whatever she can to help her teammates. Her teammates had the opportunity to return the favor, standing by her side as she battled back from her cancer diagnosis in 2014.
San Diego will be rooting for Potter and her teammates on Team USA Rugby who spent months preparing for Rio de Janeiro by training in Chula Vista at the Olympic Training Center.
