Inaugural Olympic Rugby Sevens Ball Revealed

World Rugby, the sport’s international governing body, released images today of the ball that will be used during the 2016 Rio Olympics.  

Rugby sevens (with seven players per team) will make its first appearance at the Olympic Games in 2016. Rugby union (with 15 players per team) made its Olympic debut in 1900, but the sport has not been played at the Olympics since 1924.

The first-ever Olympic rugby sevens match will be France vs. Spain on Aug. 6.
