Gulls Points Streak Ends in Ontario

San Diego drops road game to division rival

First, the good news:

Before Saturday night's game in Ontario the Gulls got forward Kalle Kossila back from Anaheim and he assisted on their first goal. Troy Terry, another top Ducks prospect, also had an assist so he's scored in all five of the games he's played with San Diego.

Now, the bad news:

The Gulls lost 4-2 to the Reign, snapping their 5-game points streak.

Kossila's assist came on a 1st period power play that led to defenseman Josh Mahura scoring his first Gulls goal and gave San Diego a 1-0 lead. Ontario tied it in the 2nd period ... then the final 20 minutes got a little nutty.

Austin Wagner and Sam Herr scored 24 seconds apart to give the Reign a 3-1 lead. Terry assisted on a Max Jones goal, the first regular season goal of his Gulls career, to make it a 1-goal game with 2:54 to play but Ontario scored on an empty net to kill the comeback.

The Gulls head to Tucson to play the Roadrunners on Wednesday night then start a 5-game homestand on Friday night when the Colorado Eagles come to town.
