The Padres have dropped seven straight games and fans are starting to freak out.

    But I say freak not!

Let us instead find solace in the words of history's great leaders.

Winston Churchill: "Never, never, never give up!"

Thomas Jefferson: "When you reach the end of your rope ---- tie a knot in it and hang on."

John McLane: "Yippie kiy-yay, ---- Matt Latos!"

Latos was on the mound for the Padres, and he was awesome. Six innings, one run and ten strikeouts. But for the second straight start, the kid left with a lead and didn't get the win.

Seventh inning, some shoddy Padres defense loaded the bases and Brendan Allen went big fly. Grand slam, Diamondbacks win 5-2.

The Giants beat the Rockies, so San Francisco is just three games back.
