Silver for San Diego Bobsledder Elana Meyers

It's the first time two U.S. sleds have medaled in women's bobsledding

San Diego's Elana Meyers and Olympian Lauryn Williams earned the Olympic silver medal as teammates Jamie Greubel and Aja Evans brought home the bronze in women's bobsledding Wednesday.

It's the first time two U.S. sleds have medaled in women's bobsledding.

Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse of Canada beat Meyers and Williams by 0.10 seconds to win their second straight Olympic women's bobsledding gold medal.

The Canadians entered Wednesday trailing by about a quarter-second.

Meyers and Williams had the lead after two runs, but skids cost them time in Runs 3 and 4 -- and ultimately cost the Americans gold.

Williams becomes the fifth Olympian to medal in different events at the Summer and Winter Games. She has gold and silver medals from three Olympic appearances as a sprinter.

Meyers, whose mother lives in San Diego, has lived and trained with athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.

She won a 2010 bronze medal at the Vancouver Olympics and has Olympic rings tattooed on her ankle.

When she was on the podium after a bobsled race last year, she got a proposal she couldn't refuse - from her fiance and fellow bobsled athlete Nic Taylor.
