Snow storms have some resorts open and others close to it

There's gold in them thar hills, white gold - s'no foolin'.  Yep, the ski and snowboard season is here, not full bore yet, but gearing up nicely.

Northern California's Mammoth Mountain opened on Monday.  In Colorado, Keystone and Breckenridge opened today joining Arapaho Basin, Copper Mtn and Love land Pass, which have been operating for a couple of weeks now.  In Utah, Snowbird has three runs open but snow continues to fall and nearby resorts such as The Canyons and Park City are scheduled to start operations well before Thanksgiving.

Even Mountain High, up by Wrightwood in the San Bernardino Mountains, is making snow in anticipation of being able to open, maybe as much as a week before Thanksgiving.  Of course, in all cases, Mother Nature must continue to cooperate and in the "snow making" department she's doing more than her share.

Heavy snow is again falling in the Northwest, especially in the mountains east of Seattle.  They've already had a couple of pretty good storms roll through (which have continued east, dumping snow in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and Wyoming), and more are on the way.

At least a hand full of storms are lined up over and around Alaska and are expected to move across the Northwest over the next week or so which means a lot more snow is on the way - s'no foolin'.
