Chris Sale improved his record to 5-0 as he went through Padres hitters like a buzz saw on Sunday afternoon in Chicago.
Sale, who has become the White Sox most reliable starter, pitched a complete game, striking out nine while throwing a very tidy 100 pitches. The game took just over two hours to complete.
His only blemish was a Chase Headley homer in the fifth. Sale struck out Everth Cabrera to end it. The White Sox 4-1 victory ensured they avoid a Padres sweep.

The Padres did take two of three at U.S. Cellular feed. They return home to take on the Pirates in a three game series beginning Monday.
