New changes in the Chargers coaching staff includes the retirement of Hall of Famer Charlie Joiner.
Joiner, at 65, announced his retirement Tuesday saying βItβs time in my life β¦ I should be doing something else. Right now, I have no idea what I will be doingβ according to the teamβs website.
Joiner played 11 seasons as a Chargers teammate and worked 10 years with the team as a coach most recently as the wide receivers coach.
New head coach Mike McCoy recently hired Ken Whisenhunt, former Arizona Cardinals head coach to be his offensive coordinator.
Defensive coordinator John Pagano, whoβs defense was ranked 9th this past season, is still with the team as of now.
