Chargers RB Tomlinson's status up in the air vs. Steelers

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who sat out the entire second half of the team's wild card win over the Colts with a groin injury, is not a guarantee to play next week against the Steelers.

Chargers head coach Norv Turner said his status for the game will be determined later in the week, and he pointed out that Tomlinson's injury is not any worse than it was last week.

Turner added that it was obvious to the coaching staff that Tomlinson could not play the way he usually does due to the injury. He recorded 25 yards on five rushes with a touchdown in the win over Indianapolis.

Tight end Antonio Gates (ankle) is expected to play next week against Pittsburgh, as is kicker Nate Kaeding (thigh, groin), linebacker Brandon Siler, who missed the last two games with a foot injury, defensive end Luis Castillo (groin) and center Nick Hardwick (shoulder).
