Chargers: Wait Until Next Year

The reality of the season being over for the Chargers set in on Monday at Chargers Park.

After being beat up by the Steelers 35-24 in that divisional playoff, the Chargers are concerned about losing their defensive coordinator Ron Rivera.

"The Detroit Lions have asked for permission to talk to Ron about their head coaching job, and he'll interview," said Chargers Head Coach Norv Turner.

Another major concern is the health of running back LaDainian Tomlinson who could need surgery to repair a torn tendon in his groin.

"I'm not sure about the surgery," said Turner.

Injuries certainly took their toll on Tomlinson and the team.  "He was so close, and so were we," Turner added.

They weren't close against the Steelers after having just one offensive play in the third quarter.  "That was the turning point," said quarterback Philip Rivers.

A quick team meeting, and the off season began for the Chargers. It should be an off season of change in a lot of areas.
