Jared Gaither Back in Chargers Lineup?

NFL officials are back and so is Chargers left tackle Jared Gaither.

He's not all the way back. But Gaither did take part in practice Wednesday.

He hasn't done much except visit doctors since suffering back spasms during the first couple days of training camp.

Gaither said he wants to play as soon as possible but he's still a long shot to be in uniform Sunday at
Kansas City.

Playing at Arrowhead is always a challenge, especially against the Chiefs offense that is starting to play well.

Bring 'em on says Sean Phillips. β€œFor me, I love playing on the road because I like the type of hostility and the pressure,” Philips said. β€œThat’s what I look forward to. I believe a lot of guys on our team do too.”

With the game against the Chiefs being a division game, Philips said the team is inspired to win even more.

The other news: receiver Malcom Floyd got a three-year contract extension. Now he can just concentrate on getting open and catching the football since that’s something he does very well.

In fact, if Floyd earns the necessary 250 catches to qualify for the team’s all-time list, his yards per catch average would rank third-highest in team history according to the Chargers website.
