Chargers FanFest Coming to the Q

The Chargers are inviting fans Saturday to the pinnacle fan experience of the preseason.

Fans are welcome to bring jerseys, T-shirts, hats, banners and other Chargers gear to Qualcomm Stadium for the annual FanFest, an event devoted to providing an up-close experience for team loyalists.

The stadium parking lot will open at 8 a.m., and the gates will open at 9:30 a.m., followed by a full team practice from 10:15 a.m. until noon.

The first 2,000 kids admitted between ages 6-14 will receive wristbands for post-practice field access to meet and receive autographs from players and Charger girls.

Hot dogs will be sold for $1 each, and parking and admission are free.

The Chargers will also have a free open-to-public practice Sunday between 4:30-6:30 p.m. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. at Chargers Park at 4020 Murphy Canyon Rd.

San Diego will play its first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks at 5 p.m. Aug 11 at Qualcomm Stadium.
