Chargers Add a Familiar Face

WR Vincent Brown returns to San Diego

The Chargers know they don't have Keenan Allen. There's a good chance they won't have Stevie Johnson or Dontrelle Inman, and Malcom Floyd is basically playing with one arm.

So the Chargers are really hurting for wide receivers right now. That's why they brought back a familiar face this week. The Bolts signed former Aztec Vincent Brown, who will wear number 86 again, for the final four games of the year.

Brown was drafted in the 3rd round by the Bolts and spent four injury-plagued seasons in San Diego. He spent last year with the Raiders but up until this week, had not caught on with any one in 2015.

So Brown was training with friends from high school up in the Inland Empire when the Chargers came-a-calling. They worked him out on Tuesday and added him to the roster a day later. The fact he still remembers a lot of the playbook and has established a comfort level with quarterback Philip Rivers certainly played a role in the decision.
