Big Bear Is Open for Business

After a rough start to the week, the popular resort is open again

Conditions are outstanding at Big Bear, according to the resort's management. So why are you at work?

After last week's powerful winter storms, the Bear Mountain was closed Monday because of travel restrictions near Big Bear Lake. As of Monday afternoon, the resort management said it was all clear for snowboarders and skiers wanting to get away and enjoy the fresh powder.

Of course, weather conditions could change things. It's probably wise to keep checking the resort website for updates.

Here's the latest on road conditions:

Hwy 330/18 from San Bernardino: OPEN- chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel & All-wheel drives with snow tires.

Hwy 18 through Lucerne Valley: expected to OPEN tomorrow morning- chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel & All-wheel drives with snow tires.

Hwy 38 from Redlands: expected to OPEN later this evening: chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel & All-wheel drives with snow tires.

If you go, be sure to snap more than a few pics and send them to us at isee@nbcsandiego.com. Be sure to hide your face so your boss can't identify you.
