Big Bear Boarders Get a Taste of Olympics

A nearly 600' long "superpipe" now ready to ride at Bear Mtn.

Get a taste of what the Olympic skiers and snowboarders are doing by heading to Big Bear.

This week they opened up their "Superpipe", at Bear Mountain.  It's 18' high (deep), 65' wide and 580' long and with more than 5' of snow on the ground.

It's fast becoming the #1 place to "watch and be watched" at this popular resort.

"Bear Mountain's Superpipe is a big attraction, drawing snowboarders and skiers from all over the region who want to feel what it's like to ride a pipe just like the USA Olympic Team," says Chris Riddle, Big Bear Mountain Resorts Director of Marketing.

The pipe is the only one like it in Southern California.
