Battle of Statistical Monsters on Halloween

Cougars and mavericks set for offensive battle

Friday night's game between Escondido and La Costa Canyon will bring out the freaks on Halloween.  Freaks of athletic nature.  Escondido's Ricky Seale is the beast on the ground.  The junior running back has 1,486 yards rushing through seven games, which comes out to a monster average of 212 yards per game.  Seale is no stranger to the end zone either.  Seale has already hit paydirt 19 times this season, with four of those scores coming from over 50 yards out.

Unlike Escondido, La Costa Canyon takes to the air to scare their opponents.  The leader of the aerial assault is wide receiver Kenny Stills.  The 6'2" junior is aiming for the triple crown of receiving.  As of Wednesday, he leads the county in receptions (45) and receiving yards (908), and ranks second in TD catches with 12.  Stills catches about six balls a game, good for an average of over 20 yards per catch.

On Halloween night we should see a great game between two of the county's top teams.  Expect to see some scary good offense.
