Eddie Royal on the practice field taking part in drills for the first time since leaving the Chargers Compound in an ambulance Aug. 17th after suffering a bruised lung and concussion.
Defensive end Corey Liuget returned as well after suffering a shoulder injury in the Bears game on Aug. 15th.
The news wasn't as good for linebacker Manti Te'o, who was held out yet again with that pesky foot sprain. Coach McCoy did not rule out the Notre Dame rookie from the season opener against the Texans on Monday, but it seems improbable that he will play. Bront Bird has been practicing with the first team and all indications are that he will start against Houston.
Safety Brandon Taylor (knee) did not participate in practice as well.
