Aztecs' Hoke Named Coach of the Year

SDSU's Brady Hoke says he's talked to other schools but that's as far as it's gone

San Diego State Head Coach Brady Hoke was named the 2010 Mountain West Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

In his weekly press conference, Hoke praised his team. The Aztecs are 8-4 and headed to their first bowl appearance since 1998.

Also on Tuesday, Hoke addressed reports he is being courted by at least two other schools looking to fill head-coaching vacancies. Both Minnesota and Indiana have officially talked to Hoke, but he said that's as far as it has gone.

Hoke also said he has had conversations with officials at SDSU and is very happy with how those discussions have proceeded.

Also selected for year-end honors was SDSU's Aztec Ronnie Hillman, who was named the MWC Freshman of the Year. He is only the second Aztec to ever receive the award. His teammates DeMarco Sampson (wide receiver) and punter Brian Stahovich were both named first-team selections for 2010.
