Like any college basketball team, the Aztecs know you've got to make your free throws in a close game to win. They proved it Saturday night, as they scored all their points in overtime on free throws and edged TCU 79-77.
Kyle Spain made all ten of his free throws in the game, including six in overtime, to lead San Diego State with 18 points. He also picked up a loose ball, after a block by Lorenzo Wade to protect the lead.
The Aztecs blew a 16 point lead, and needed a basket by Richie Williams to help get the game into OT. Williams had 14 points, and 11 rebounds. SDSU ended a two game losing streak, and improved their record to 19-8 overall, 9-5 in the Mountain West Conference.
They'll finish the regular season this week with a pair of home games against Colorado State, and UNLV.
