Aztecs Fall To 7th

SDSU's 1st Loss Drops Them 3 Spots in Top-25

The Aztecs lost their first game of the year at BYU on Wednesday, but followed that up with a 39 point demolition of Wyoming on Saturday. The latter probably kept them in good graces with folks who vote for the Top-25.

SDSU only dropped three spots to #7 in Monday's rankings. BYU is right behind them at 8th (the Cougars lost in New Mexico on Saturday). On Monday point guard D.J. Gay said it was hard to lose that game in Provo, but they learned a lot and applied it to their crushing of the Cowboys.

The Aztecs' next game is Wednesday on the road against Colorado St., another team that plays at altitude. It's still not out of the question for the Aztecs to earn a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament.
