Aztecs Advance to Championship Game of Wooden Legacy Tournament

San Diego State basketball beat Georgia 75-68 to advance to the championship game of the Wooden Legacy Tournament in Fullerton.

The Aztecs are 5-1 for the first time since 2014-15, after beating Georgia, a Southeastern Conference team that entered the game 4-0.  The two teams were tied at 61 with 5 minutes to play, but the Aztecs made the big plays down the stretch.

Devin Watson scored a team high 16 points for San Diego State, Trey Kell and Matt Mitchell had 13 points each.  In a surprise, Jalen McDaniels came off the bench to score a career high 11 points and grab 8 rebounds.

The Aztecs need contributions from a variety of players to overcome an early 12 point deficit.

San Diego State will play Washington State in the championship game onSunday, November 26th.  Tip time for the title tilt is set for 9pm.
