All Hands On Deck (Almost)

Rookies and veterans converged on Chargers Park Tuesday for the first day of Organized Team Activities, also known as OTA's. Unlike mini-camps the OTA's are voluntary. Missing on Tuesday were offensive lineman Jeromy Clarey, tight end Antonio Gates, linebacker Dwight Freeney and running back Ryan Mathews.

Head coach Mike McCoy didn't seem the least bit concerned about the absent veterans, "We know why they're not here, we're going to get better with the guys we have here right now, it's voluntary."

Malcom Floyd was on the field and was happy to be back practicing after a serious neck injury that ended his 2013 season in week two and nearly his career, "You know I just didn't give up. The doctors said there was a chance of me getting back out here so I just kept working and now I'm here."

OTA's run for three days the next three weeks. Mini-camp, which is mandatory, is June 19th through the 21st.
