A disappointing year for Bill Grier's Toreros ended with an 80-69 loss to Santa Clara in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference in Las Vegas. USD finishes with a 16-16 record, and while they might be considered for the NIT that would have to be considered a long shot.
Meanwhile, Kiva Herman scored 20 of her game high 30 points in the second half to lead the USD women to a 76-69 victory over Pepperdine. The Toreros will now face Portland tomorrow in the semifinals.
