Whether there will be a 2011 NFL season is still being debated.
But the league is going ahead and releasing the dates and times of the pre-season. The San Francisco 49ers will open their season Friday, Aug. 12 at New Orleans.
Game two of the preseason could be the 49ers most interesting affair. The battle of the bay will be played in San Francisco when the 49ers and the Raiders meet at Candlestick Park on Saturday Aug. 20 for a 5 p.m.
The 49ers will finish the preseason schedule with a home game against the Houston Texans and a final round game against the San Diego Chargers on Sept. 1.
All games will be played at 5 p.m. except the San Diego game will start at 7 p.m. The 49ers preseason games will be broadcast in the Bay Area on KPIX television and KNBR radio.
