NBA Game Summary – LA Lakers at Portland

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Brandon Roy scored 27 points and collected six rebounds with five assists, as Portland pounded the Lakers, 111-94, for their 12th consecutive home win.

Travis Outlaw netted 22 points and LaMarcus Aldridge posted 16 points and 13 boards. Joel Przybilla added 12 points and 18 rebounds.

The Blazers are a gaudy 27-5 at the Rose Garden this season and tied Utah for the Northwest Division-lead with their 40th win of the season. Visits from Dallas and New Jersey will wrap up a four-game residency.

Kobe Bryant poured in 26 points and Pau Gasol recorded 18 points and 13 boards for the Lakers, who own the NBA's best record but had their modest two-game win streak end.

LA opened a three-game road trip with the loss and is 21-9 as the visitor this season. The Lakers dropped their seventh straight in Portland and haven't won in the Rose City since February 23, 2005.

LA's Trevor Ariza was ejected after committing a flagrant foul on Portland's Rudy Fernandez, sparking a melee between the teams. Ariza ran down Fernandez and clipped the top of his head with a swipe of the arm on a layup attempt with 2.2 ticks left in the third. The Trail Blazers took exception and shoves were traded, most notably between Ariza and Portland's Brandon Roy.

Meanwhile Fernandez remained on the floor under the basket and was removed via a stretcher with a precautionary neck brace. The Spanish guard-forward was taken to the hospital where he reported having chest discomfort. The impact of the fall was centered near his left hip.

Portland jumped on LA right from the start with a 25-16 lead after 12 minutes. A lopsided second quarter saw the Blazers score 36 points to LA's 22 and the hosts owned a 61-38 advantage at halftime.

The Lakers went nearly six minutes without a point in the third leading to a 13-0 Portland run with a Fernandez triple capping the surge for a whopping 81-51 margin.

Moments later the melee allowed a seemingly distracted Portland club to have its lead shaved to 16 early in the fourth, but a Roy three-pointer and three free throws on the following possession re-established a 20-point lead. Aldridge upped the lead, following with a dunk and jump shot with 4 1/2 minutes to play and the Blazers cruised from there.
