NBA Game Summary – New York at LA Lakers

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant finished with 28 points, seven rebounds and six assists, as the Los Angeles Lakers overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to notch a 116-114 win over the New York Knicks.

Lamar Odom added 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Andrew Bynum finished with 13 points and 11 boards for the Lakers, who have won four in a row and seven of eight overall.

The Lakers have won 11 in a row at home and are 14-1 as the host this season.

Nate Robinson had a season-high 33 points to pace the Knicks, who have dropped two consecutive games. David Lee ended with 18 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.

With under 1 1/2 minutes to play, Robinson drilled a three-pointer from the right corner to give the Knicks a 112-111 lead. But on the other end, after a Derek Fisher miss, Trevor Ariza deposited a baseline layup to put the Lakers back on top.

Each team missed on its next possession, giving the Knicks the ball with under 30 seconds left after a timeout. Robinson drove through the lane and pulled up for a floating jumper, but his right-handed shot hit off the front of the rim and fell to Ariza, and Fisher was fouled with 6.4 ticks on the clock.

He made both shots for a 115-112 Lakers lead, and LA purposefully fouled Robinson with 3.8 seconds left. The Knicks guard made both free throws to get New York back within a point.

The Knicks again fouled Fisher, with 2.7 ticks remaining, and he missed the first. After Fisher made the second for a 116-114 Lakers lead, a desperation Knicks heave from beyond midcourt was well off the mark, sealing the win for LA.

The Lakers trailed 65-50 at halftime, but chipped away at their deficit shortly into the third quarter. Bryant's jumper sparked a seven-point burst, as Luke Walton followed with a three-point play, and Fisher's bucket brought LA within 67-61 a little more than two minutes in. Another seven-point surge later in the quarter got the Lakers within 80-77 with a little under four minutes to go.

After the Knicks ballooned their lead back up to eight points, Jordan Farmar connected on a jumper and Ariza ended the stanza with a layup to trim LA's deficit to 88-84 headed into the fourth.

New York still led by several possessions through the early stages of the fourth, but approaching the midway point, the Lakers got within a point. A jumper from Bryant, two free throws from Odom and another Bryant bucket got LA within 99-98 with 6:33 to play, and the teams traded baskets down the stretch.

The Knicks used an 11-0 run to take a 25-18 lead early in the contest. New York ended the opening stanza with six consecutive points to take a 37-26 advantage into the second quarter, and maintained the margin through that stanza.

Quentin Richardson's triple just before the break gave the Knicks a 65-50 lead at halftime.
