Filner, Gloria Settle Score

It appears Mayor Bob Filner and San Diego City Council President Todd Gloria have settled a spat from earlier in the week.

Filner appointed Gloria as his first representative to the San Diego Association of Governments Board of Directors on Thursday, according to a city document.

“I'm pleased to join @BobFilnerMayor to announce the 2013 appointments to outside agencies,” Gloria tweeted on Friday afternoon.

Filner originally wanted Councilman David Alvarez to join him as a city delegate to SANDAG, but Gloria wanted that appointment himself. The two openly argued during a city council meeting on Jan. 8.

"I'll be happy to talk to you," Filner said to Gloria during the meeting. "This is not a staff decision. This is right now between you and I. And I'll be happy to meet with you any time, any minute, any second."

Alvarez was ultimately appointed as a first alternate for Gloria.
