Wikipedia Deletes Local Councilmember's Entry

In some circles, you're only somebody when you have a Wikipedia page.

For Escondido councilmember Olga Diaz, she's not there quite yet.

The online encyclopedia deleted the entry for Diaz recently saying she is not notable enough to have her own page, according to our media partners the North County Times.

"I was notable for about a year, but I haven't been notable since Oct.5," Diaz joked to the paper.

A supporter created the page for Diaz, who was the first Latina to be elected to the city's council with her election in 2008.

Earlier this year Diaz proposed a resolution condemning Arizona's controversial immigration law SB 1070 at an Escondido city council meeting only to be rebuffed. She was also critical of an mailer sent by the Escondido Police Officers Association in 2009 that she said had racist overtones.
