Rick Perry to Visit San Diego

Texas governor will talk with San Diegans following a presidential candidate debate

Texas Gov. Rick Perry will visit San Diego next week for a meet and greet with San Diego Republicans. The presidential candidate will be at Landmark Aviation at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Perry will arrive in San Diego following the Reagan Library Presidential Candidates Debate, which airs on NBC at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The event is free and guests are required to reserve a spot on the San Diego Republican Party website.

Chairman of the San Diego Republicans Tony Krvaric said he’s looking forward to having Perry in San Diego.

Krvaric expects those in attendance will want to ask Perry about the staggering employment rate.

“Jobs are first and foremost what are on Californian’s mind,” he said.

Event organizers stress that attendance will be limited, but Krvaric said there was still space as of Friday morning.

Perry isn’t the first to stop by: Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney visited La Jolla last month and President Barack Obama will come to San Diego later in September.
