Measure I: Will San Diego High School Relocate from Balboa Park?

The oldest high school in San Diego County appears it will stay put. As of 8 a.m., with 100% of precincts reporting, San Diego's Measure I had passed with voters.

The passing of Measure I allows San Diego High School to stay on Balboa Park Property by renewing the lease with the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD).

Proponents of the measure say relocating the school would negatively affect the students and their families.

Critics argued that the district had over four decades to find alternatives but did not in hopes of a Plan B. They say that the space occupied by the school could be put up to better use of taxpayer money by turning buildings into conference centers and museums.
