Kasich Signs Ohio Bill to Cut Planned Parenthood Funding

Republican presidential candidate and Ohio Gov. John Kasich signed a bill that aims to strip Planned Parenthood of funding in the state, NBC News reported.

Kasich, who was expected to sign the bill before the South Carolina primary, signed it a day after finishing with about 8 percent, near the bottom of the pack, in the state.

The bill does not name the organization specifically, instead, citing “any entity that performs or promotes nontherapeutic abortions.” It’s expected that Planned Parenthood would be the most affected.

Planned Parenthood fired back after the news, saying the move would have dire consequences “for women across Ohio.”
