From the opening of polls to the final decision, voters around San Diego shared their experience on Election Day with us.
A record 1.6 million San Diegans registered to vote this year, and the county registrarβs office estimated anywhere between 75 and 80 percent of those voters would turn out on Tuesday, or mail in their ballots.
About half of the ballots sent out were returned by Monday. Another 100,000 to 200,000 will return their ballots at their polling places, according to the registrar of voters.
Here's a look at what those voters were feeling throughout the day.
