Cheney Cancels

Dick Cheney won’t be campaigning today in the south suburbs for congressional hopeful Martin Ozinga after all.

The Tribune reports that Cheney “has experienced an abnormal heart rhythm” and has canceled his appearance at a $500-per-person luncheon at Ozinga’s Homer Glen house.

“Cheney’s press secretary Megan Mitchell said that during a visit with doctors this morning, it was discovered that the vice president was having a recurrence of atrial fibrillation -an abnormal rhythm involving the upper chambers of his heart,” the Trib says.

Cheney instead is scheduled for outpatient treatment at George Washington University Hospital.
