Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, left, chats with Dean Parker, center, of the Ben Carson campaign, and Bob Walker, with the John Kasich campaign in the spin room during the CNBC Republican presidential debate at the University of Colorado, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, in Boulder, Colo.

Dr. Ben Carson’s campaign lost another senior staffer hours before the next Republican presidential debate Thursday, NBC News reported.

Campaign finance chairman Dean Parker resigned after a report by Politico that he was paying himself large sums for a role that is typically unpaid in other campaigns.

He called the allegations “misrepresentations” but still offered to resign, insisting he was working to help Carson.

Parker is the sixth senior level staffer to leave Carson’s campaign in the last two weeks, including his campaign manager and communications director. Two junior staffers have also left.
