YouTube to Broadcast Live Video of the Muslim Ritual Hajj

Hajj, the largest pilgrimage in the world, will be broadcast live on YouTube for the first time.

About 2.5 million Muslims are expected to travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for the annual Islamic ritual on Nov. 5. Mecca's Grand Mosque houses the Kaaba, which is considered Islam's holiest site. Thousands of muslim pilgrims will move around the holy Black Stone in the center of the mosque.

"The Hajj represents one of the five pillars of Islam," Google wrote on its blog. "It requires all Muslims around the world who are able-bodied and can afford it to perform the pilgrimage once in their lifetime."
