Young Man Shares His Journey From Compton to Oxford

Caylin Moore's book aims to uplift and inspire others

A 25-year-old Compton native is using his journey to Oxford to inspire others.

Caylin Moore’s road began as a kid on the Falcon’s youth football team at Harvard Park. His youth football experience and high academics took him to Texas Christian University where he showcased his skills in Division I football.

"It was an incredible experience. I learned so much and played with the best. It was great," Moore said.

From TCU, Moore went on to become a Rhodes Scholar, earning a graduate degree from the University of Oxford.

Moore said the foundation of faith and values established by his mother gives him the strength to withstand all trials.

"It made me feel even more deserving and even more prepared for this opportunity because I've learned how to respond so positively to adversity," Moore said.

Moore's story is penned in his memoir entitled, "A Dream Too Big: The Improbable Journey from Compton to Oxford." The book aims to uplift and inspire others going through similar circumstances.

"There's a lot of people that can be impacted in a positive way from me telling my story," said Moore.
