Woz Really Likes Android

Steve Wozniak loves Android. He likes its voice commands, its built-in navigation system and better battery life. Overall, he said, the iPhone 4S is for people who are "scared of complexity" and computers.

In an interview with the Daily Beast, Wozniak mentioned he has both iOS and Android phones and uses both. He also talks about a few complaints he has with the new iPhone.

“I used to ask Siri, ‘What are the five biggest lakes in California?’ and it would come back with the answer. Now it just misses. It gives me real estate listings. I used to ask, ‘What are the prime numbers greater than 87?’ and it would answer. Now instead of getting prime numbers, I get listings for prime rib, or prime real estate,” Woz says.

While many sites are saying that Wozniak was not insulting the iPhone or saying that Android was better, those are Apple fanboys who obviously weren't reading the same thing we were. Wozniak said that the iPhone is much more user-friendly, and therefore better for most people. “The iPhone is the least frightening thing. For that kind of person who is scared of complexity, well, here’s a phone that is simple to use and does what you need it to do,” he said.

By that logic, if you're not scared of complexity or computers, you may also buy an Android phone -- much like Woz did (full disclosure: and I did.) For those of you shaking your head in disbelief, Wozniak didn't completely disown the iPhone.

"“My primary phone is the iPhone,” Woz said. “I love the beauty of it. But I wish it did all the things my Android does, I really do.”
