The debut of AMC's zombie serial "The Walking Dead" is still weeks away, but the buzz surrounding it has already earned the show a pickup.
AMC has ordered a second season of "Walking Dead," based on the Robert Kirkman comic book, to begin filming in February, a source told Fangoria. Considering that the first season is only six episodes, this should hardly comes as a surprise.
The series follows small-town cop Rick Grimes, who awakens after a firefight with a criminal to find there's been a Zombie Apocalypse. Grimes soon joins forces with some fellow survivors to try and make their way in an undead world.
Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption") is the show's executive producer and he also wrote and directed the first episode, which will air Halloween night.
