The U.S. is considering opening more Iraq bases similar to the one that was announced yesterday in Taqqadum, the Pentagon confirmed Thursday. The new bass could mean the need for additional U.S. troops to deploy in Iraq. The troops would serve mainly as advisers to the Iraqi Security Forces and support personnel, including security, Pentagon spokesperson Colonel Steve Warren said. Any place where the U.S. had a forward operating base in Iraq during the war is under consideration, however, Colonel Warren did not speculate how many new additional bases the U.S. .
